ABC Tutorial

To distribute the song and all its parts to your friends, you could just give them the folder “mysong” with all the files already inside it, and instruct them to put it in their own lotRO music folder.

Then, once everyone has the parts of the song in their folder, they need to find each other in-game, join a fellowship, and go into music mode with the proper instruments. Then they each need to enter the following command:

/play <song path and name> sync

In the example listed above, one person should have a flute, and the other, a harp. So then one would enter. . .

/play mysong/flute sync

. . .and the other would enter. . .

/play mysong/harp sync

When each one enters this command, they should see a message in the chat box which says

<Player Name> is ready to play <Song Title>

This is so that they can keep track of who still needs to enter the command, especially with 6-part songs.

Important! Don’t forget the “sync” at the end! It signals to LotRO that you mean to play the song simultaneously with others. If you forget it, you will begin your own part immediately, without your band mates. If this happens, press tilde ( ~ ) to cancel it and try again.

When everyone has entered the command to play their part with the “sync” command at the end, any player in the group can use the command. . .

/playstart

…to have the whole band begin playing. :D Now take your band out for a world wide tour in the major cities, and see what a great reception you'll get! Enjoy the show!
