Boudiccia's guide to the Champion Some people, like me, just like to kick butt. That's why I decided to play a Champion in LOTRO. I really got into the idea of playing a weapon-whirlwind, tearing up enemies with my huge contribution to the group's overall DPS. As a Champion, enemies simply don't last very long. But if damage was all I cared about, why didn't I play Hunter? The answer is simply the fact that I didn't want to play a fragile class. A Hunter friend on mine once said that Hunters have all the sturdiness of a wet paper bag. Champions do awesome damage, but they also make decent off-tanks--especially when prepared. Champions are front line fighters, able to take some damage, and dish out quite a bit back. Champions are--well, the champions of melee DPS, no questions about it. |
