I started downloading the aion client (its the preload and seems to be going real quick) My guess is that this will then down load the rest of the updates and that will take all night.
I read a review that said it was fun to play after you got past the first 5 levels where you do some lame quests killing rats and armadillos for local farmers.
The only thing of note that i picked up was that you get to fly and engage in aerial combat. I picked up a key so will let you all know
But, I did get a chance to try it out this afternoon. The grfx are good. a lot like guild wars if anyone remembers that game. the Koren influence is toned down a bit but still very evident. The music is very good and changes as you go to different zones and as you enter in and out of combat. not sure how much it varies as you go to higher zones only made it to level 7. I really want to get to level 10 so I can fly. I might make it.
The quests are fun and abundant and well written enough to engage me to the point of reading them.
The combat is not too interesting at level 7 with a limited number of skills. There are combos and stances (you invoke an action and go to a stance).
I haven't done any crafting but see evidence of some.
You can sell anything you like by sitting on the road side and making Items available from your inventory. This is very handy but could make an area very crowded if more then just the few players start engaging in the practice.
Big crowds so far but would expect that. An MMO needs big crowds to be viable in my opinion.
The game play is very sooth even on the highest settings. I had a problem early on but was because I had my spysweeper software on. It might have interfered with their anti hacking code.
So far it's fun but not sure how long it would hold my attention. It might be worth playing until something I was really interested in came out.
