yet another MMORPG. This time with Bioware!
Here is the announcement;
It’s a very exciting time at BioWare as today we are announcing one of the most anticipated Massive Multiplayer Role Playing Games (MMORPG), Star Wars™: The Old Republic™.
Star Wars: The Old Republic brings together BioWare and LucasArts, co-creators of one of the most critically acclaimed RPGs Star Wars™: Knights of the Old Republic™ as we plan to bring it to the massively multiplayer online space.
We are thrilled to be announcing the game that will bring the 4th pillar, real emotion and a meaningful story, to the MMORPG space. At BioWare, we’ve always been committed to crafting rich, deep worlds and emotionally engaging stories and characters and our goal for Star Wars: The Old Republic is to bring that vision to the MMORPG genre

I'd heard rumors about this game. I'm rather looking forward to it. It'll still be while before it's even close to out though. I never played KOTOR republic before, though I keep telling myself I should.
I've always loved Bioware commitment to story telling. People often call them RPG specialists, but rather they describe themselves as Story-telling experts, which just happens to lend itself to the RPG genre.
Bioware is awesome, `nuff said.
Lots of good ones on the Horizon. It will be hard to choose what to play.
"So many MMORPGs so little time"
Really, I've come to accept that I simply will not have to play them all.
ATM, I'm looking forward to some awesome RvR in WAR. Beyond that, I keep checking my E-mail about the Champions Online Beta. *crosses fingers*
Check this out.

Curse ye gods of the MMOs! Why must there be so many good ones?!
Seriously, when I heard BioWare was making an MMO, I was sold already. Almost everything they make turns into commercial gold. They always have good story, which is often he biggest thing going for me in a game.
That video only makes me look forward to the game even more. They make some pretty big claims in it, especially about how the character affects the story (and vise versa); Coming from any other developer I would have been really skeptical, but I have a lot of faith in BioWare.
This is game going to be made with Win and Awesome, and then sprinkeled with generous proportions of Epic.
Here is a video of Bioware talking about the story and setting of The Old Republic.

To paraphrase, every class in the game will have the same amount of choices as you would in a single player Bioware RPG. Say what, Bioware? That is something like writing a whole Lord of the Rings sized novel from the prespective of each of the Fellowship members--all nine of them--and then some.
I think the Force is strong with this game!
The only thing that could make it better is the inclusion of Dwarves as a playable race! :P
The meeting of single-player RPG complexity with the social interaction of an MMO is a really HUGE and ambitious step. But if Bioware can't do it, then no one can! Bioware is the god of game-story, that's all.
If they can pull it off successfully, I predict it may even change the current MMO standards. Like WoW did for MMOs, for better or worse. Used to be that you could sell a very hard-core game that was painful to level, and gave severe penalties for dying and other blunders. But WoW made gaming easy to appeal to the general population, and it has really changed the standards for other MMOs. The most successful games since have been following this format.
If that's good or bad, I can't say, but I will say that MMOs becoming more complex and customized to the individual player sounds pretty excellent to me. Go TOR!
Wow! and not that other WOW. there is a new trailer go take a look either hit Urich's original link or try this one.
Being in the middle of Mass Effect and throughly enjoying it I cant imagine just how good a Bioware MMO could be. I can only hope. I would gladly give a small piece of my anatomy to be working for these guys.

watching the the story telling video again i picked up a few very interesting points i had missed or forgotten.
A companion to help you make decisions.
Decisions you make can alter the direction your character takes. No save, try one thing, if you dont like the direction the game is going, reload. This time you make a bad decision you have to live with it.
Each class will have as many possible carrer paths as any single player bioware game.
That would be 8 at least if you look at ME.
Some tough choices coming. being a jet pack using bounty hunter or a light saber wielding Jedi. what to do. what to do.
full voice story telling.
