I'm enjoying the class guides. Just wanted to point out an error in the LM one.

Sign of Power: Wizardry & Sign of Power: Wizard's fire do not have a heal by default. The heal after a flank only occurs when Master of the Staff is slotted.

I know it's fairly minor, but I felt it was rather misleading.

Sign of Power

Thanks for your interest in our guides and for your suggestions.

I'm fairly sure the information for Sign of Power: Wizardry and Sign of Power: Wizard's fire is correct and each will proc a heal when the pet is flanked; no specific trait is required. I use these skills regularly and have not had Master of the Staff slotted for many levels. But just to be sure I corroborated them in-game. Wink The actual benefit a lore-master receives from the Master of the Staff trait is the significant amount of extra damage when using Staff-strike during a flank. Heals are not in any way related to this trait.

Thanks for your input.

The Eagle

Thumbs up for the guide, very nicely done! As someone who's been playing a LM since the beginning of the game I find there's not much to add, and having all that info neatly laid out in one place clearly deserves a bookmark Wink.

Having said that, there's one thing about the Eagle pet you haven't mentioned (and which is missed by many LMs, actually). Namely, the Eagle's default attack, when it hits, interrupts any skill the mob is currently inducing. This works great egg. against the damage-reversal buff of the Moria orcs, but obviously has many more benefits, and sometimes, when used smartly, can even make a huge difference in a tough boss fight.

I think this ability (along with frequent flanking) is what makes some LMs swear by the the Eagle, and I also fell in love with it when I discovered it. Plus, I find the sacrifice skill extremely useful when soloing (I do tend to get myself into sticky spots often enough), as the Eagle is in combat 95% of the time - it has saved me both time and money plenty of times.

TBH, I usually use the Bog Guardian if I am slotted for it, but if not, it's most often either the Eagle or the Lynx, and I find the Eagle to be superior in my battles against Moria orcs and goblins (and, obviously, also in many full fellowship/raid scenarios).

Eagle

You bring up a really good point about the eagle, Kalafior. It deserves a closer looking into, and possibly addition into the the lore-master's guide.

Thanks for your suggestions. Smile
