Well, I've found something

Well, I've found something out since the last post!

I have to include the end of the title, in this case "-multi". However, the client chooses to have me play the clarinet part despite me having a lute, and only an occasional note every few seconds can be heard.

I am a broadband cable user with no other connection problems that I am aware of. Perhaps some troubleshooting in the guide would be nice?

Thanks!

Check the files

Well, the lotro client doesn't care what instrument you have equipped; It just tries it's best to play the notes with whatever instrument you have equipped.

In your case, you're playing the file that is the clarinet part, but with the lute equipped; the lute simply can't play most of the clarinet notes, they're out of range. That's why you only hear a few notes.

I recommend double checking what file plays what instrument. If you want to play the lute part, you'll have to type in the exact name of the lute file and have the lute equipped.

Did you resolve this yet?

That sounds very strange!

I'd agree with Urich, to double-check the files. It's possible LOTRO's ABC has a problem too. I haven't been in too recently to check, so I might try it and see what I get.

No, but I've backed off for a bit. I've slowed down and will try it again later. Perhaps in the next few days?

Thank you both for the help though, I am going to try looking at the files more closely and/or trying different instruments and other variables.
