Catching Up
Submitted by Newmoon on Sat, 02/27/2010 - 12:30
After some technical issues, and a run of difficult scheduling for our site moderators, (most of whom are very busy both working and going to school) we're getting back to updating and adding to our content after a brief hiatus. For starters, we've added some new info to our Ask the Lore-master page, and are contributing several new files to our ABC Library. Next on the agenda, a return to our updated class guides project as well as making our Avatar Maker available to our registered members. Thanks for your patience!
Mirkwood guide updates!
Submitted by Murgol on Tue, 12/01/2009 - 21:21
Today, the Siege of Mirkwood expansion went live, with much fanfare and rejoicing. With it came some pretty sweeping changes to the combat system that have significant implications to all of our old class guides. It's on our agenda to update all our class guides so that all the information is pertinent and up-to-date. The Rune-keeper and Warden guides are also coming along nicely--we decided to pause a bit and wait for Mirkwood's changes rather than release them early and have to update them immediately.

A new trailer has been released for the Siege of Mirkwood, this one featuring some stunning voicework by the Lieutenant of Dol Guldur, the Necromancer's Tower (aka Sauron's old pad) and the primary focus of the expansion. Take a look by clicking here!
Site Updates
Submitted by Newmoon on Sat, 10/10/2009 - 14:04
In preparation for the debut of our new Rune-keeper and Warden class guides (due to be out very soon now) we've been working behind the scenes for the last few weeks to facilitate the way all our guides are submitted and updated, in order to make presenting them to visitors and members easier and more efficient for our moderators and our admin.
Our guides are some of our site's more popular content but their intricate nature has made updating them a real trial for our staff, so we've completely rewritten how they are handled and worked from the inside, in the hope that we can more easily keep producing and updating them for our site visitors.

Video Guide Requests
Submitted by Newmoon on Sat, 09/12/2009 - 17:38
Since the release of our Forges of Khazad-dûm instance video guides, we've gotten a lot of request for more instance video guides. We really want to thank everyone who has offered their support and great positive feedback, and in response, we've currently set up a DONATE PAGE to allow us the resources and time to create more quality video guides for our site members and visitors.
Anyone donating will also be directed to a voting page where they can have the advantage of casting their vote for the next video guide, and site members will also be awarded membership points that can be used for advancing membership levels, or saved for exclusive access to some of our cool upcoming features, such as our Avatar Maker.
So give us a push, add a donation, and put your vote in for the next great LOTROinfo instance video guide!

OKAY! So. Guess what? THE SIEGE OF MIRKWOOD. (insert dramatic echo here.) This is the latest expansion for Lord of the Rings Online. It's basically going to be all about the best thing in Middle Earth. Elves. Myself included, since I know you all can't get enough of me. Aside from me, it looks like we'll be having a lot of contact with my second cousins twice removed over in the east.
What we have been up to
Submitted by Newmoon on Wed, 08/19/2009 - 13:22
It might look like our site's been a little quiet lately, but we've been hard a work trying to finish the last round of our Forges video guide series. Unfortunately, just as we were about to release the final sequences, one of the encounters was changed in-game, so we had to go back and redo some of the crucial material, including new instance footage, recreating map animations, and going through lots of editing.
So we've been delayed a bit, but are now nearly done with the final sequence to our Forges guide. You can expect the release on You Tube and LOTROinfo (which will retain some exclusive footage) sometime later today, tomorrow, or the next! A new comic will accompany.

We're offering a preview for our upcoming Avatar Maker, a unique and cool little feature that will allow established, contributing members to create custom LOTRO-themed avatars and upload them to their LOTROinfo account for use on our site.
We've currently got the elf option in use for demo purposes, but all LotRO races will be included in the final release, due very soon. Try it out and give us some feedback if you like. You can find our Avatar Maker Demo HERE.
