Mines of Moria Gamespy Review
Submitted by Newmoon on Tue, 12/02/2008 - 14:01
Gamespy has offered a rather glowing review of LotRO's new expansion. I think the following paragraph sums up much of it for me!
LotRO has spent the last year and a half becoming one of the best (if not the biggest) MMOs on the market by focusing relentlessly on what it's good at: PvE content, small-group, casual and solo-friendly questing that makes content created for masses of players feel intimate and personal. The culmination of this process is the release of Mines of Moria, an absolutely brilliant expansion pack that takes everything the development team has learned and crafts it into a sublime MMO experience.
Sublime. Dead-on. Read the whole review HERE.
Moria Release Notes

Welcome to The Lord of the Rings Online: Mines of Moria!
These release notes cover many changes to the game, but because so many new systems have been introduced in Moria, we've tried to limit them to what's changed from Shadows of Angmar. For overviews of the new systems, please read the associated developer diaries, which are linked in the overview!

See how the Rune-keepers style of healing won't step on the Minstrel's toes. And discover just what all this hullabaloo is about Attunement, and how it draws some of its flavor from the language and lore of the Elves and Dwarves. Go now! Read it.

This Just In: Crafted Item Names
Submitted by Murgol on Fri, 09/05/2008 - 04:51
Some of you may have already discovered this, but it wasn't in any of the recent patch notes for book 14 or beyond. It seems that it's now possible to use spaces and certain punctuation characters in the custom names that a crafter can place on a higher level critically-successful crafted item. Previously, you could only use alphabetic characters -- to make a name with multiple 'words' you'd have to do something like: RingOfTheLongLake. Well no longer! Check out the screen shot below.
Let the creative names commence.
