Site Orientation

Please acquaint yourself with the dynamics and workings of this site, including reading the Join LOTROinfo information link, and becoming familiar with authenticated Membership Levels, Forum Ranking and rewards, and content Submission FAQs before you register, as doing so can make your transition to membership easier, and possibly save you confusion and errors later on.

Registration

In choosing your username, you agree to select one that is appropriate to this site's tone and character. Please do not use numbers, underscores, all-lowercase, or any unusual characters in your username. You should consider using your LOTRO ingame character name for your username, if it is appropriate and does not violate LOTRO's naming policies. Usernames which do not comply with these suggested conventions will be removed or changed, with or without prior notice.

If you choose a name that is offensive, or register multiple times for the explicit purpose of causing mischief, your account will be suspended. Also, any additional personal information that LOTROinfo determines to be inaccurate or vulgar in nature will be removed, with or without prior notice, and your membership may be suspended.

Note that custom Avatar uploads are currently not available at LOTROinfo.com. Because of the widely varied nature of custom-selected themes, and the difficulty in monitoring them for appropriateness, Avatar uploads are not supported. Registered members, however, may select from a group of appropriately-themed Avatars, with succeeding levels of membership granting access to a wider variety of themed Avatars. Additionally, future projects include a LOTROinfo Avatar selection widget that will allow registered members to create unique and custom LOTRO-themed Avatars. Random Avatar uploads however, will not likely be supported at any time in the future.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use LOTROinfo.com to post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violates any Federal or International law. You agree not to post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or by LOTROinfo.com. You agree not to post any material that violates any company's or organization's NDA. Note that commercial advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, and solicitations are inappropriate at LOTROinfo.com, and any submitted material that bears such characteristics will be removed and the member's account, based on the severity of the infraction, considered for suspension.

Please note that LOTROinfo.com cannot and does not actively monitor the posted content and/or Forum messages, nor do we vouch for or warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any information presented, and as such, are not responsible for the content contained within.

Submitted Content and Forum messages express the views of the author of the message, and not necessarily the views of LOTROinfo.com or any entity associated with it. Any user who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to contact LOTROinfo.com immediately by email. We have the ability to remove objectionable messages and we will make every effort to do so if we determine that removal is necessary.

You remain solely responsible for the content of your messages, and you agree to indemnify and hold harmless LOTROinfo.com and its agents with respect to any claim based upon transmission of your message(s).

LOTROinfo.com also reserves the right to reveal your identity (or any other related information collected on this site) in the event of a complaint or legal action arising from any situation resulting from your use of this site or any message posted by you on its Forum.

Privacy

Please note that your IP address is recorded during your activity on the site, but will be used only in the event of gross misconduct on your part and subsequent suspension, in order to prevent your IP from further accessing the site and causing any additional harm.

Also note that this site's software places a cookie, or a text file containing key pieces of information (such as your username and password), in your browser's cache. This is only used by your browser and for your own logging in purposes, and it does not collect or send any other information to or from your computer.
